'Toledo en el sol'
Toledo is a beautiful village with an interesting history. At one time, there were three religious groups living in harmony; people of christian, muslim and jewish faiths. For this reason, we visited a synagogue, church and a mosque all from different periods in time and the fact they remain show the diversity of this significant village. There are many legends about Toledo which we learned today also. To our delight, the weather was lovely for most of the day. However, before the sun arrived, we sheltered from the wind in a small café and tried the famous spanish treat that is 'churros y chocolate con leche' -in England there is nothing like it and we enjoyed them very, very much!

EXCHANGE POYNTON HIGH SCHOOL/SAN VIATOR DAY 2..

Today we visited Segovia. The weather was quite cold and very windy but it didnt spoil the day!
There are many important things to see in Segovia, for example the Patronato del Alcazar. The building is beautiful and inside the paintings and decoration are very intricate and regal. We also went to the plaza de mayor there, and saw the tallest part of the ancient acuaduct. It was a very interesting trip for me and my friends to learn more about the history of Madrid and only an hour away.

Hi!

How are you? It was wonderful to see you last Friday. We had so much fun at the party with the rest of our classmates! But now I'm writing to tell you a problem...I need a piece of advice from you, because I know you are a good friend.

As you already know, I had a big argument with my friend Sarah last week. The situation is this: a couple of months ago she met new people from her sports club and she has been going out with them very often since then. And now, I hardly ever see her, and I'm worried because I think she doesn't want to be my friend anymore.

If she met me once every two weeks at least, I wouldn't be so worried, but now I never see her. Last week I called her and we argued because I asked her to introduce me to her new friends, but she answered me that she doesn't think I would get on well with them because we are so different. Of course, I got angry, because I have always been with her every time she was alone and needed me. She is such a hypocrite! Honestly, I think she is wrong. If I had any new friends, I would be happy to introduce her to them!

Now she is avoiding me and she doesn't even answer the phone when I call her.

What would you do if you were me? Would you call her again? Or would you just wait and see what happens?

Please, write me back soon, I'm desperate!
Take care, I hope to see you soon

Emma

Hello!

Sorry I haven't answered to your e-mail before, but since I didn't pass the last maths exam my mother didn't allow me to use the internet for one week.
I need your help! I know you are going to the school trip to Cadiz, everybody is going but me... my parents don't let me go!

My mother says I don't deserve it because I don't work hard enough at school. It's true that she promised me I could go if I passed all my exams, but she knows I'm bad at maths and she should understand that, I'm not a geek!  Also, she thinks the trip is too expensive. She knows I've been saving money for months to be able to go to Cadiz! She is such a bore! I think her life is so boring that she doesn't want anybody to have fun.

Please, help me. What would you do if you were at the same situation? If I don't do anything, she won't let me go :-(

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes,

Tom
